Fabienne Wella has been working at Aktion Nachbarschaft e.V. in Cologne since 2019. Alongside her administrative role, she is actively engaged in community-based social work: she leads a women’s integration group, supports people in navigating administrative procedures, and provides interpreting assistance.

With her language skills in French (native), English (fluent), German (very good), as well as Kabyè, Ewé, and Kotokoli—languages spoken in Togo—she fosters inclusive, transnational forms of exchange grounded in care, mutual support, and situated knowledge.

At the Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum, Fabienne Wella coordinates the “Café Retour”, a space dedicated to women from the African diaspora. Rooted in engagement with the museum’s collections from the African continent, the “Café Retour” creates a platform for dialogue, shared reflection around heritage, memory, and contemporary lived experiences.
